Letter from President

Thank you for your interest in the VWR Foundation.

Since its inception, I have had the honor to witness firsthand how the Foundation’s grants are enabling science. From supporting science education at schools and camps, to research in labs, to providing clean water in underprivileged areas, the VWR Foundation has truly made a difference.

Recently, a professor from West Virginia State University contacted the VWR Foundation, informing us that a number of local schools had been destroyed by severe flooding. These schools are currently developing contingency plans for the 2016-2017 academic year, while also seeking funds to reconstruct the buildings. This professor, with no direct affiliation to the schools except proximity, organized fundraising efforts to ensure science remained part of the students’ education. His dedication exemplified how one person can truly make a difference. The VWR Foundation was happy and honored to help rebuild their science program.

There are a number of unsung heroes who make a difference. On behalf of the VWR Foundation, I would like to thank those individuals and groups for your efforts. Whether supporting science or making the world a better place, your commitment is greatly appreciated.

We look forward to working more closely with our grantees as well as supporting new organizations to help make a difference in science. It is my hope to share more stories like this one in the future. Until then, please explore our website, which includes information about the Foundation’s mission, information about our programs and grantees, and our grant guidelines and application process.

Sincerely,

Valerie Cucinotta Collado
